Physician Bio

Lane Childs, MD is a highly skilled urologist now seeing patients at Bingham Healthcare as a visiting specialist. After more than 30 years of treating patients in Utah, he’s excited to bring his skills and experience to Idaho. Dr. Childs offers a wide range of care for men, women, and children, treating kidney stones, conditions of the kidneys, bladder and prostate, vasectomies and reversals. His hands-on, personalized approach to surgery is focused on helping patients feel better and live healthier lives.

Dr. Childs earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed his urology residency at the University of Kentucky Hospitals. Since then, he’s built a distinguished career in Utah, including leadership roles like Chief of Surgery at St. Mark’s Hospital and recently elected President – elect of the Utah Medical Association. He stays on the cutting edge of urology, keeping up with the latest treatments and technologies to ensure his patients get the best care possible.

Outside of work, Dr. Childs loves the outdoors, enjoying activities like hiking and traveling. He’s also passionate about giving back, having taken part in a medical mission to Africa and serving on staff for National and World Scout Jamborees.

Now, as a visiting specialist for Bingham Healthcare, Dr. Childs is eager to offer his expertise to the Idaho community, providing top-notch urological care.
