About Bingham Healthcare Addiction Medicine

Our addiction specialists are here to help. They provide prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services for patients with unhealthy
substance use or substance-related health conditions, including alcohol, nicotine, prescription medicine, and other illicit and licit drugs. Our
physicians also help family members who are affected by a loved one’s substance use or addiction, which is a chronic disease and not a moral failure to society.

This area of medicine often crosses over into other areas, since various aspects of addiction fall within the fields of public health, psychology, social work, mental health counseling, psychiatry, and internal medicine, among others. Our addiction medicine team specializes in some of the following outpatient services:

  • Detoxification
  • Harm reduction
  • Abstinence-based treatment
  • Individual and group therapies
  • Treatment of withdrawal-related symptoms
  • Acute intervention
  • Long-term therapies designed to reduce likelihood of relapse
