BINGHAM MEMORIAL HOSPITAL GLADLY PRESENTS WALK WITH A DOC

The Walk with a Doc concept is simple: Dr. Christopher Heatherton, DO, board-certified family medicine specialist at Bingham Memorial Hospital, organizes walks in Blackfoot and invites patients, their families, and community members to join him. Participation is free and pre-registration is not required. Walkers will enjoy a refreshing and rejuvenating walk around Jensen’s Grove with Dr. Heatherton, who will provide support to participants and answer questions during the walk.

Why? Walking is the single best thing we can do to live a long, high-quality life. Walk with a Doc makes it easy by providing the time, place, motivation (brief health talk), and people for a fun walking experience.

What? Blackfoot residents of all ages are encouraged to lace up their walking shoes and join Dr. Heatherton’s FREE Walk with a Doc event.

When? Event with start again in the spring of 2018! 

Where? The blue shelter at Jensen’s Grove in Blackfoot

Who? Any community members who are interested in participating.

ABOUT DR. CHRISTOPHER HEATHERTON

Specialty: Family Medicine

Dr. Heatherton, DO, is board-certified family medicine specialist. He sees patients in Blackfoot and practices medicine with a focus on patient wellness and prevention. Appointments can be scheduled by calling: (208) 782-2980.

Dr. Heatherton chose to specialize in family medicine because it gives him the opportunity to work with patients of all ages—from newborns, children, and teens to adults and the elderly. While Dr. Heatherton cares for all members of a family, it is particularly important for him to help adolescents through mild to severe cases of depression.

His patients describe him as friendly, easy to talk to, and someone who genuinely cares about their well-being, always placing their best interests first. In addition, he works with patients on preventative health measures, specifically unique ways to eat better.

ABOUT WALK WITH A DOC

Walk with a Doc is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages, and reverse the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle to improve the health and well-being of the country.
