Physician Bio
We are pleased to introduce Candiss Aschenbrenner, MSN, family nurse practitioner (FNP-C), in the areas of autoimmune diseases and functional medicine. She works closely with Dr. David J. Bilstrom, Director of the International Autoimmune Institute & Bingham Memorial Center for Functional Medicine.
With nearly 10 years of medical experience, Candiss is involved in all aspects of patient care and works with people suffering from autoimmune diseases. She works with the team to help change the way autoimmune disease is treated worldwide, and by helping patients achieve their best health through preventing and treating all autoimmune disease. She also has clinical experience in behavior medicine, family medicine, pediatric care, and women’s healthcare. In addition, she has extensive experience working with people who have Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities.
Aside from medicine, Candiss’s other interests include: daily meditation and yoga, writing, and spending time with her family exploring the beauty of Southeast Idaho.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Idaho State University, Pocatello, Idaho
- Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner – from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Certified massage therapist and infant massage instructor
- She specializes in massage for infants with Down syndrome
