Physician Bio

We are pleased to introduce Gregory S. Emfield, DO, MS, who specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology. He is board certified in ophthalmology.

Dr. Emfield has extensive, comprehensive surgical experience extending from neonates to the elderly, including cataract extractions with ORA/DMM, premium IOLs, IOL exchange, glaucoma lasers, shunts, MIGS, retina laser procedures, intraocular injections, oculoplastics/trauma, strabismus repair (pediatrics and adults), and corneal procedures.

His patients describe him as caring, personable, and a great listener. He is devoted to his patients and places them first. He does this by helping them get whatever they need, spending extra time in appointments, and always doing what he can to exceed their expectations. This helps him develop lasting and strong relationships with his patients.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language, with an emphasis in Spanish, a Bachelor of Science in Zoology, and a Master of Science in Biology—all from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Oregon. He participated in a transitional year internship at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley, California. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA, which covered all of San Bernardino County and accorded him exceptional surgical and medical experience.

When Dr. Emfield is not practicing medicine, he loves spending time with his wife and their four daughters, and their Shar Pei. He enjoys skiing, snowboarding, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, and mountain biking. He also likes playing guitar and is a reef tank hobbyist cultivating corals and saltwater fish.
