Physician Bio
We are pleased to introduce Jason Reid, MD, who is a member of our hospitalist team.
Dr. Reid did not always want to be a doctor. During his second year of college, he suffered a fractured leg that required extensive rehabilitation. The time he spent at the hospital helped him to appreciate medicine. Dr. Reid soon became involved with volunteering in the hospital which made him realize that he wanted to pursue a career as a physician.
Hospitalist work provides a unique set of acute and diverse problems that can respond quickly to therapy. Dr. Reid says, “I enjoy the opportunity to investigate and learn about disease processes, and I love to interact with patients.” Dr. Reid believes it is his duty to provide an exceptional experience to all patients through practicing evidence-based medicine in such a manner that each patient feels that they received meticulous attention in a compassionate way.
Dr. Reid forms a partnership with his patients that is built on trust and respect. “I always try to take an interest in their lives and spend the extra time to understand their concerns and address them,” says Dr. Reid. He feels it is important for patients and doctors to work together as they treat an illness and reach treatment goals.
Dr. Reid has gained experience working as a resident of Internal Medicine in three different hospitals within a three year period. This experience has allowed him to feel joy as he helps his patients. “I’ve found that by investing myself in the care of my patients, the joy they experience with recovery becomes my own and truly gives me a sense of fulfillment,” he says.
When he isn’t serving patients at the hospital, Dr. Reid enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He also loves to ski, play basketball, fly-fish, and working on home-improvement projects.
