Physician Bio

We are pleased to introduce Julius G. Ulugia, MD, emergency medicine specialist.

Dr. Ulugia’s approach to medicine is driven by a desire to ensure that his patients are active participants in their own care when possible. He enjoys the variety, complexities, and challenges that emergency medicine encompasses, and holds sacred the ability to help people who experience an emergency medical condition. Dr. Ulugia is passionate about helping and serving the disenfranchised and underserved.

Dr. Ulugia was born in Savai’i, Samoa, before moving to West Valley City, Utah, where he and his wife were raised. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, and a minor in Chemistry from University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Ulugia enjoys athletics. He was a college athlete and has been a lifelong participant in basketball and volleyball, and a fan of Rugby Union. He also enjoys singing and playing the guitar, as well as mentoring youth. He cherishes time with his wife and eight children.
