Physician Bio

We are pleased to welcome Peter A. Caputo, MD, a highly trained urologist specializing in laparoscopic and advanced robotic surgery. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Caputo earned his undergraduate degree from Westminster College before attending medical school at The Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center, followed by a fellowship in Laparoscopic and Advanced Robotic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.

Throughout his education and training, Dr. Caputo focused heavily on advancing the field of robotic surgery, publishing more than 30 research articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and authoring four book chapters on urological surgery. He has also presented his research at national medical conferences. Since returning to the area, he has enjoyed teaching future urologists as an adjunct professor at the University of Utah.

Dr. Caputo treats patients for all aspects of urological health, with a particular interest in kidney, prostate, and bladder cancer. He prioritizes minimally invasive surgical techniques whenever possible to promote faster recovery. In his free time, he enjoys skiing and hiking, as well as spending time with his wife and two children.
