Physician Bio

We are pleased to introduce Tarek Barbar, MD, a board-certified nephrologist who provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of kidney conditions, including autoimmune, genetic, metabolic, and hemodynamic kidney diseases. He also cares for patients requiring dialysis and those preparing for or recovering from kidney transplantation.

Dr. Barbar’s foremost priority is delivering optimal patient care. He firmly believes that advancements in research and evidence-based medicine are fundamental pillars in achieving the highest standards of patient outcomes, and he integrates these principles into everyday clinical practice.

Dr. Barbar earned his MD degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He has been recognized for his dedication to patient care and medical education, receiving the Fellow of the Year Award during his fellowship and the Specialist of the Year Award in his first year as an attending physician.

He is an active contributor to medical research, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American College of Physicians.
