Physician Bio

We are pleased to introduce Shelby Worthington, PA-C, a physician assistant joining Bingham Healthcare as a provider at Bingham Healthcare 1^st Choice Urgent Care, Blackfoot. She completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Idaho State University, along with a Spanish for Health Professionals Graduate Certificate. She is also fluent in Spanish, providing an additional resource for patients and families throughout the communities she serves.

Shelby completed clinical rotations in emergency medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, internal medicine, women’s health, and inpatient psychiatry at hospitals throughout Southeast Idaho. During her emergency medicine rotation at Cassia Regional Hospital, she gained experience evaluating and managing a variety of acute conditions, including chest pain, abdominal pain, fractures, lacerations, cellulitis, asthma exacerbations, and sepsis. She also developed experience with suturing, splinting, EKG interpretation, bedside ultrasound, and procedural care.

Her clinical training also included pediatric evaluations and patient education at Bingham Memorial Hospital, inpatient care at Minidoka Memorial Hospital, women’s health at Portneuf Medical Center, general surgery at Cassia Regional Hospital, and inpatient psychiatry at State Hospital South. Across her clinical experiences, she participated in patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning, preventive care, interdisciplinary care, and patient and family education.

Before becoming a physician assistant, Shelby gained additional healthcare experience as a medical assistant and physical therapy aide, working with patients in clinical and rehabilitation settings. She earned her Bachelor of Biomedical Science from Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg and is committed to providing patient-centered care and helping patients make sustainable lifestyle changes.

Shelby believes every patient deserves to be seen as a whole person, not simply a diagnosis. Her goal is to listen, build trust, and provide individualized care that helps each patient feel heard, confident, and empowered to live their healthiest life.

Shelby is from Burley, Idaho, and is excited to continue serving patients in her home state. Outside of medicine, she is a devoted wife and mother who loves spending time with her family. She is naturally driven and enjoys learning, setting new goals, and continually challenging herself to grow both personally and professionally. Health and wellness are also an important part of her life. She enjoys exercising, lifting weights, and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. Shelby strives to practice what she encourages in others- making intentional choices that support a healthy, active, and fulfilling life.
