BLACKFOOT, Idaho – February 2, 2017 – Bingham Memorial Hospital (BMH) would like to announce that Alice Cannon has retired from their Board of Directors after eleven years of unwavering service. In addition, three new members were appointed to serve on their Board of Directors.

Born and raised in Blackfoot, Mrs. Cannon is a successful local business owner who is a well-known and respected member of the community. During her tenure on the Board, Mrs. Cannon served as Vice Chairman for two years, Chairman for two years, and, in her final year on the Board, she served one year as Past Chairman. Driven by passion, dedication, and a keen business acumen, she was vital in helping to secure important resources and establish policies needed to build BMH into what it is today.

“I am grateful for Mrs. Cannon’s service, her outstanding leadership abilities, and how instrumental she was in devising effective strategies that have greatly contributed to the viability of BMH,” said Jeff Daniels, CEO of BMH. “Mrs. Cannon has worked with BMH in the spirit of genuine partnership, offering steadfast counsel and direction during our many expansions, renovations, and changes in leadership. She remained resolute in her dedication to BMH, and her tireless work has made it possible to save people’s lives and support more than 700 employees and their families throughout the region.”

Mrs. Cannon infused the Board and hospital administration with a sense of stability, providing BMH with the strong foundation to continue guiding medical practices in a direction that will benefit Eastern Idaho for years to come.

Adding to its strong foundation, the three new members of BMHs Board of Directors are:

Herb Bohrer was born and raised in Valley City, North Dakota, where he attended Valley City High School. He then received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, OK. For 20 years, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy submarine force and retired with a final rank of lieutenant commander. Mr. Bohrer has a professional career that spans more than 30 years, having worked with the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INL) in several different capacities as well as the U.S. Department of Energy. He brings a tremendous amount of experience to the Board, having served on a number of boards throughout the region.

Bryce D. Jolley was born in Shelley and raised in Firth, and attended Firth High School, Riggs College, and Idaho State University, studying civil engineering. Mr. Jolley is the President of Harper – Leavitt Engineering, Inc., having worked there for more than 30 years, and is a registered Professional Land Surveyor in Idaho. His experience includes: working with and overseeing residential, commercial development for the proper collection of data in conjunction with boundary surveying, control surveys, ALTA/ACSM surveying, topographic and location surveying. He is a member of American Congress of Surveying and Mapping and the Idaho Society of Professional Land Surveyors. Mr. Jolley has been a devoted member of the Blackfoot Rotary Club for more than 20 years, having served terms as Secretary, Treasurer, and President.

Linda Valentine was born and raised in Blackfoot, where she attended Blackfoot High School. She first started working at BMH in the patient admissions department in 1984. She later served as a ward clerk and was privileged to work in the quality assurance/utilization review department for five years. She was then promoted and served as executive assistant to three hospital administrators. Mrs. Valentine also served for many years as a member of the employee activity committee, worked closely with the Board of Directors, helped to train new employees, and served as the unofficial historian. Prior to retiring in 2016, she was executive director of the Bingham Health Care Foundation.

They will also help us to continue to invest in many new pieces of equipment, bringing the latest technology along with high-quality and compassionate healthcare to Eastern Idaho.”
