Bingham Memorial Hospital Welcomes Their First Baby of 2015

Bingham Memorial Hospital is happy to announce that the first baby born at the hospital in 2015 has arrived. Blackfoot couple Cheyenne and Blake Rain welcomed Brynlie, their second daughter, into the world on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 11:19 a.m.

Brynlie, who weighed 6 pounds and 11 ounces, and was 19 inches long, was delivered by the couple’s OB/GYN, Dr. Heather Pugmire, of the Bingham Memorial Women’s Center.

While Brynlie missed New Year’s by a couple of days, she was actually born a few weeks early—just in time to be a birthday gift for her father. “Even though she wasn’t due until later this month, she definitely came out screaming like she was ready to be here,” said a glowing Cheyenne. “We haven’t heard a peep out of her since. She’s been such a peaceful baby, and we’ve even had to wake her to feed her.”

Dad was a little tired, almost forgetting that his birthday is tomorrow. “It’s a good feeling to have our second healthy daughter,” said Blake, proudly holding his sleeping newborn daughter with a full head of brown hair. “We’re going to have a little more work to do, but it’s all worth it.”

Cheyenne said her big sister was already in love with her baby sister. “She was so excited to meet Brynlie and kept walking around saying ‘baby, baby.’”

In its longstanding tradition, Bingham Memorial presented the New Year’s baby, Brynlie, with a beautifully crocheted blanket donated by Blackfoot resident Shirley John as well as pink gift bags brimming with blankets, a little medical kit for the baby, and a Wi-Fi digital camera for the parents.

Congratulations to Cheyenne and Blake, who will take Brynlie home to meet the rest of the family Monday afternoon.
