Physician Bio

We are pleased to introduce Abby Wilson, DNP, FNP-BC, RD, CDCES, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with specialized expertise in diabetes care, metabolic health, and chronic disease management.

With more than a decade of experience dedicated to diabetes and cardiometabolic health, Abby provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan. Her clinical expertise includes diabetes management, insulin therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, nutrition therapy, and prevention of long-term complications. She is highly skilled in integrating medical treatment with lifestyle and behavioral strategies, helping patients better understand their conditions and feel confident in managing their health. Her background as both a nurse practitioner and registered dietitian allows her to take a whole-person, team-based approach that emphasizes education, prevention, and sustainable outcomes.

As a nurse practitioner, I believe in supporting my patients with kindness rather than from a place of judgment. In a world where the pressures around health and wellness can feel heavy, I’m guided by the idea that “you can’t hate yourself healthy,” and that belief shapes how I care for others.

Our relationships with our bodies are deeply personal, so I prioritize making sure patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care. With so much confusion surrounding medicine, health, and nutrition, I strive to simplify the noise so patients can feel more confident in their choices. Education is central to my work—I want those I care for to truly understand their health so we can make thoughtful decisions together, especially when navigating diabetes and metabolic health.

Whether someone is learning to nourish themselves and their family without guilt or simply wants a treatment plan to help them feel like themselves again, my aim is to help individuals rebuild confidence in their bodies and create meaningful, lasting change through an integrated approach to nutrition, medicine, and metabolic health.

In addition to her clinical work, Abby has extensive leadership and quality improvement experience. She currently serves as Clinical Manager and Diabetes Education Program Quality Coordinator, where she oversees operations, leads a multidisciplinary team, and drives initiatives to improve patient outcomes and care delivery. Her doctoral scholarly project focused on improving kidney health evaluation in patients with diabetes through provider education and workflow optimization, reflecting her commitment to advancing evidence-based practice.

Abby earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Baylor University, where she completed over 1,100 hours of clinical training. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Idaho State University and completed her dietetic internship at Oregon Health & Science University. Her diverse clinical background includes experience in urgent care, primary care, inpatient care, and outpatient specialty services, giving her a well-rounded foundation in both acute and chronic care management.

A Southeast Idaho native, Abby is passionate about serving her community and improving access to high-quality endocrine and metabolic care. She values collaboration, patient education, and building strong relationships that support long-term health and wellness.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys her role as a mom, spending time with her family, staying active, being outdoors, cooking, and reading books and sharing stories with close friends.
