Physician Bio
We are pleased to introduce Jason Bell, DO, MS, a fellowship-trained endocrinologist who specializes in diagnosing, treating and providing guidance for individuals with hormonal and metabolic imbalances.
With extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, Dr. Bell diagnoses and treats a wide range of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, parathyroid disorders and hormonal imbalances of the pituitary and adrenal glands.
His clinical expertise includes managing a variety of routine as well as complex endocrine cases and endocrine-related complications. Dr. Bell’s primary focus for his patients is to improve their long-term health outcomes and to maximize their quality of life. He strives to have his patients understand their disease process; what is happening, why it is happening, and the rationale for the treatment plan. He is committed to delivering personalized, patient-centered care built on a foundation of education, communication and trust that emphasizes disease prevention, sustainable lifestyle changes and having his patients live their best lives possible.
Dr. Bell understands that he is only one part of the healthcare team. Excellent medical care can only be provided when every facet of the healthcare team, including the patient, is functioning optimally. Practitioner and staff communication with the patient is of utmost importance. Dr. Bell understands that medications prescribed to his patients must be tolerable, affordable and effective and that the benefits must outweigh the risks of any medication prescribed.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bell has contributed to research in endocrinology and metabolism, including studies on insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes, and hypophosphatasia, which is a disorder of bone and mineral metabolism. His undergraduate and graduate degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology further enhance his approach to patient care, allowing him to integrate medical treatment with practical lifestyle strategies for improved health and wellness.
Dr. Bell earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science from Texas State University. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX where he went on to serve an additional year as a Chief Resident and Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine. He then went on to complete his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at The Washington University School of Medicine / Barnes-Jewish Hospital of the Barnes Jewish Christian Healthcare System in St. Louis, MO.
Outside of work, Dr. Bell enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, hiking Idaho’s peaks, living life outdoors, exploring The Great State of Idaho, striving to live a life of humility and always working to improve his physical and mental fitness.
