Physician Bio
Dr. Matthew Ward, MD is a general surgeon with comprehensive training in a wide range of surgical procedures.
Dr. Ward was born and raised in southern Idaho and has focused his training on rural surgery with the goal of providing a wide range of advanced surgical care in a community setting. His clinical interests include complex hernia repair, minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, breast and colon cancer surgeries, gallbladder surgery, acute care surgery, and endoscopy.
Dr. Ward is excited to be returning home to Idaho and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities Idaho has to offer. When not operating, he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, hunting, fishing, and generally enjoying nature.
Dr. Ward is dedicated to providing excellent surgical care and is a valued part of our general surgery team.
Professional Credentials
He completed his general surgery residency at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, New York, and earned his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Brigham Young University–Idaho.
