Physician Bio

Dr. Shannon Sutherland, D.O., FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and also board certified in obesity medicine. She is passionate about empowering women through every stage of life—from adolescence to motherhood to menopause—by providing compassionate, comprehensive, and individualized care.

Dr. Sutherland offers a full scope of obstetric services, including prenatal care, labor and delivery. She is excited to be a part of the Grove Creek team and work together with her colleagues in order to provide compassionate, collaborative care throughout every stage of motherhood.

Dr. Sutherland earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia, where she graduated with honors in the top ten percent of her class. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, where she served as Chief Resident. She is certified in minimally invasive robotic surgery and trained in the DaVinci Surgical System.

Before joining Bingham, Dr. Sutherland practiced at Wood County Hospital and McLaren St. Luke’s Hospital in Ohio. She also served as an associate professor and residency trainer for family practice and OB/GYN residents, sharing her passion for education and women’s health with future physicians.
