Bingham Health Care Foundation Held 2nd Chili Cook-Off to Raise Money for Local Organization

Thanks to a high level of participation from employees, the Bingham Health Care Foundation and Bingham Employee Activities Committee held a Chili Cook-Off that raised $1,250. Troy Eppich, board member of the Foundation, presented a check for $1,250 to members of the Bingham Search and Rescue.

Bingham Search and Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that relies heavily on donations from businesses and individuals. It is comprised of more than 30 individuals from all walks of life and are extensively trained and certified in search techniques, high angle rescue, swift water rescue, water recovery equipment and are emergency medical technicians or first responders.

There is always a need for donations and volunteers at the Bingham Search and Rescue. For more information on how you can make donations and support this amazing cause, please call the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 785-4440.

This year, 10 Bingham employees entered their chili recipes and the following four awards were handed out:

  • Judge’s Choice Award (chosen by members from the Bingham Search and Rescue team): AmyWuest, Manager of Grants and Continuing Medical Education at Bingham Healthcare. Her entry was: Chili #10 – Impossible” Santa Fe Chipotle Chili. “This chili brings together flavors of the southwest with autumnal staples to create a totally unique chili experience!  The chef’s distinctive blend of flavors balances the heat of traditional chili with the sweetness of autumn classics.  Flavors include adobo peppers, tomato, butternut squash, carrot, black beans, cinnamon, chipotle and cumin.”
  • 1st Place for People’s Choice:Will Davids, Staff Pharmacist at Bingham Healthcare. Chili #4 – Ancho Mama’s Chili. “Hearty, slightly smoky chili with chunky ground beef.  Secret blend of spices, with Ancho chili based sauce and mixed beans.”
  • 2nd Place for People’s Choice:Michael Brandes, Business Writer at Bingham Healthcare. Chili #1 – White Bean Chicken Chili. “This simmering pot of chili you’re about to enjoy is a one-pot wonder.  White beans, oven-roasted chicken, medium spiced salsa, and a variety of cheeses bring this delicious dish to life.”
  • 3rd Place for People’s Choice:Nathan Buck, Director of Acute Care & OB at Bingham Healthcare. Sweet N Sassy Pot O’ Beans. “A comforting blend of beans, meats and spices – with a hint of green chili peppers!”
