Bingham Memorial Hospital Announces Vickie Flores as Employee of the Year for 2015

Bingham Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that Vickie Flores has been named Employee of the Year for 2015. All Bingham Memorial employees had the opportunity to nominate someone for Employee of the Year, and, this year, Vickie’s peers chose her because they respect her and she has such a positive personality.

Vickie has been a full-time employee at Bingham Memorial Hospital in nutrition services since July, 2002. She currently works at Butch’s Plaza Deli in the Bingham Memorial Medical Plaza across the street from the main hospital.

“Vickie does an outstanding job in Butch’s Plaza Deli. She has taken it and made it her own,” says Jan Williamson, director of nutrition at Bingham Memorial Hospital. “Vickie is probably the most methodical person I know. She is very detail oriented, strives for accuracy, and is a perfect example of what customer service is all about. She is always available in times of need. We are very lucky to have her on our team!”

“Vickie has been nominated multiple times in the past and I believe this demonstrates that she consistently goes above and beyond to serve her customers—both employees and visitors,” says Tara Preston, director of human resources at Bingham Memorial Hospital. “She is also well known for her willingness to be of service. When she finishes with her work, she helps others on the nutrition services team without having to be asked.”

When asked about being awarded Bingham’s Employee of the Year, Vickie said, “I was totally surprised and I was speechless. I couldn’t believe it, and what I also couldn’t believe was that my husband, Richard, was able to keep a secret for as long as he did.” Vickie also went on to say, “I’d like to thank everyone who nominated me for the award. I love my job, and I love getting paid to tempt people with such delicious food items.”

If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet or congratulate Vickie on becoming Employee of the Year, please feel free to stop by in the morning and enjoy a cup of hot coffee accompanied by a fresh cinnamon roll right out of the oven. Also, visit her at lunch and try one of Vickie’s most popular items—her famous chicken salad sandwich—or order a delicious salad or homemade sandwich, which she always takes the time and care to prepare exactly the way someone likes.

“Thank you, Vickie, for going above and beyond to greet everyone who enters Butch’s Plaza Deli with a friendly hello and warm smile,” says Louis Kraml, CEO of Bingham Memorial Hospital. “She always has a smile for everyone and adds a bit of joy to everyone’s day who comes in contact with her. Thank you for embodying the vision of Bingham Memorial and for creating a lasting example for all of our employees.”
