BH has Added Rheumatology to Their Service Offerings
BLACKFOOT, ID – August 1, 2023 – Bingham Healthcare has marked an important milestone by adding rheumatology to the services they offer. They were acting on a goal to make more treatments available to local residents so they don’t have to travel out-of-town.
“Earlier in the year, we identified a need to expand the availability of these services,” said Jake Erickson, CEO at Bingham Healthcare. “By growing our rheumatology services, we are now able to provide even more Idahoans in this region easier access to treatments. This is what we are all about at Bingham Healthcare—always expanding service lines to help as many people as possible.”
In general, these services include difficult to treat rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, discoid lupus erythematosus, gout, psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis.
Further, Bingham’s new provider, Dr. Christopher Gibson, rheumatologist, provides clinical trials and investigations with a particular interest in specific autoantibodies as biomarkers in Rheumatoid Arthritis. Dr. Gibson also performs synovial biopsies providing an important clinical and research resource for studying the fundamental mechanisms of autoimmune disease with the goal of heralding precision medicine in rheumatic disease. He works closely with other research collaborators on various projects including: disease progression of axial spondylarthritis, health care disparities in lupus treatment, lupus, lupus nephritis, and hidradenitis suppurativa.
